FLAVOR, TASTE AND EXCITEMENT ON THE AUCTION BLOCK AT
DESTIN’S CHARITY WINE AUCTION

April 20th & 21st events will draw national wine enthusiasts to benefit children in need

2/19/07 Destin, FL.  – Fine dining, entertaining auction- action and the very best wines in the country combine to create an evening to remember and an opportunity to help children at the same time.  The Destin Charity Wine Auction will be held on April 21, 2007 at the world-renowned Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, creating a beautiful backdrop of beaches and bay front views for this annual event.  This year’s event will feature award-winning wines from internationally acclaimed vintners, poured and paired with fine cuisine created by a selection of the area’s top chefs. The night will culminate with silent and live auctions for rare and distinctive wines, themed get-a-ways and other spectacular one-of-a-kind items. 

The Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation’s mission is to connect wine and food enthusiasts to raise money for children in need. Through their benefiting charities, the proceeds raised by the annual event provide financial support and give hope to at-risk children, including those afflicted by health issues. “By connecting people passionate about wine with a passion for helping children, the ultimate benefactors of this event are the children in need.” says Jen Kolar, Executive Director of the Foundation.  “This event will entice wine enthusiasts from around the country to gather for an evening rich in flavor, taste and excitement all for such a wonderful cause.”  The Foundation supports Florida’s Children in Crisis, Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation, and Sacred Heart Foundation. 

Through the generous contributions and sponsorships of the 250 attendees in 2006, the Foundation raised a record-breaking $250,000 in support of the children’s organization.  This year’s attendance is expected to surpass 350 people with a goal of raising $500,000.  This year promises to give wine and food lovers an outstanding selection of the best vintages and foods throughout the United States.  Attendees can look forward to tasting and acquiring wines from wine celebrities such as Joel Aiken (Beaulieu Vineyard), Tom Johnson (Silver Oak), Bob Cabral (Williams Selyem), Garen and Shari Staglin, Julianna Martinelli, David Arthur Long, Dan Kosta, John and Carri Holdredge (Holdredge), Ric Forman, Deborah and Justin Baldwin (Justin), Eric Fidel (Groth), Dan Philips, Clarke Swanson, Anthony Truchard, Gianni Abate (Morgan), and David Miner.  The Auction is expecting some of the nation’s top chefs (release of chef will be forthcoming).

The Destin Charity Wine Auction’s major corporate sponsor for the event is ITS Technical Services (ITS), a provider of world-class Electronics Manufacturing Services, Repair, Logistics and after-market services which is based out of Alpharetta, GA.  "I am pleased to announce our corporate sponsorship and ITS’s involvement to support charities like Children in Crisis, Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation and Sacred Heart Foundation. Event Details

Patron Dinners – Friday, April 20, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
Twelve exquisite homes set the stage for the 2007 Patron Dinners. Each Patron Dinner will feature one of the nation’s top chefs hand-picked and tastefully matched with a celebrity vintner. The dinners provide a unique opportunity to interact with fellow wine enthusiasts while enjoying innovative cuisine and the world’s finest wines. For patron safety and convenience, roundtrip transportation will be provided.

Destin Charity Wine Auction– Saturday, April 21, 2007
The prestigious Destin Charity Wine Auction will be held in the beautiful Grand Sandestin at the world-renowned Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.  This year’s event will feature award-winning wines from internationally acclaimed vintners, poured and paired with fine cuisine created by a selection of the area’s top chefs.  The night will culminate with a silent and live auction for rare and distinctive wines, themed get-a-ways and other spectacular one-of-a-kind items.

Sandestin Wine Festival - Thursday - Sunday, April 19-22, 2007
Toast to the excitement of the 21st Annual Sandestin Wine Festival at Baytowne Wharf. The four-day festival will be filled with more than a dozen events including a variety of wine dinners with world-renowned vintners, an auction for rare and distinctive wines, and samplings of more than 600 wines at the Grand Wine Tastings on Saturday and Sunday. Children In Crisis
Children In Crisis, Inc. is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), charitable organization of caring people working together to provide homes and establish hope to the foster children of our community. In a perfect world, we would have enough voluntary foster and shelter care homes in Okaloosa and Walton Counties to meet our growing needs.

The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation
The Mattie Kelly Arts Foundation is a pro-active partner in education through ‘All Kinds of Art’ to provide resources for students to explore their interests and develop their talent in the arts. This educational outreach program reaches thousands of students in Okaloosa and Walton Counties annually to bring art enrichment through the literary, performing and visual arts with live touring performances, after school and summer camp programs. The Foundation reaches at-risk students and provides scholarship assistance to financially disadvantaged students.

The Sacred Heart Foundation
Sacred Heart Foundation is the private fund raising arm of Sacred Heart Health System, a Catholic health ministry committed to serving all persons with special attention to the poor and vulnerable. Gifts received through Sacred Heart Foundation have provided millions of dollars of healthcare to poor, uninsured and low-income individuals and families throughout Northwest Florida and Southeast Alabama.
